Dam Monalisa Areina is a Ster, IBOP-dressage and PROK-approved mare from the renowned Reina dam line, a family that has produced inspection mares and sport horses for generations.

Her sire is the KWPN stallion Expression (Vivaldi x Vincent x Apollonios xx), who has enjoyed success under Diederik van Silfhout from the young horse classes through to Grand Prix level. Among his achievements are the Dutch Indoor Championships at Small Tour level (2017) and Grand Prix level (2018). He is also establishing himself as a respected sire of dressage horses.

To date, Monalisa Areina has produced four offspring, all of whom are at the beginning of their sporting careers.

Granddam Wendy Areina is a Stb-ext, Preferent and PROK-approved mare from the renowned Reina dam line. Her sire is the Hanoverian stallion Don Vino (Donnerhall x Warkant). In addition to Monalisa Areina, she has produced the Ster, PROK mare Divareina (by Dutch Dormello DDH), the Elite, PROK and Z1-level mare Iron Dream Reina (by Dream Boy), and the Keur, IBOP-dressage and M1-level mare Keizerin Areina (by Governor).

Third dam is the Keur, Preferent and Prestatie mare Hester-Reina. She is a daughter of the Thoroughbred stallion Oula Owl xx, who introduced valuable Thoroughbred blood into the Reina dam line. Among her offspring are Livius (by Balzflug), a stallion selected for the KWPN Performance Test, the Ster mare Ribes-Areina (by Welt Hit II), the Elite, PROK and Z1-level mare Emireina (by Uphill), and the Small Tour dressage horse Totilas (by Ronaldo).
